The position is ideal for someone willing to take on new challenges and can manage themselves and their time well. Top candidates will be detail-orientated and require minimal training. The selected Accountant will support a George-based team, so operating at a fast pace is essential as well as being professional. Responsibilities and accounting functions include the following:
• Compilation of Annual Financial Statements.
• Independent Review of Annual Financial Statements.
• Payroll and VAT reconciliations and calculations.
• Tax calculations (Individuals, Companies and Trusts).
• The ability to maintain a firm grasp of transactional movements.
• Proven experience to process accounts to trial balance.
• The ability to generate bespoke reports in MS Excel. Skills/Qualifications:
• Able to perform the above-listed tasks with minimal training.
• BCom Accounting Degree.
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles will be an advantage.
• Sage knowledge would be advantageous.
• eFiling competency is a requirement.
• A strong sense of accounting workflows.
• The ability to troubleshoot systems and procedures.
• Strong analytical thinker.
• Emotional resilience.
