PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Management of engineering processes in area of responsibility to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Manage, control and maintain equipment in area of responsibility
Responsible for budgeting and cost control
Safety management and risk assessment
Ensure SOP’s and COP’s are understood and adhered to
Adhere to all legislation and give clarification on given procedures
Control and management of conveyors, plant coal handling equipment/machinery, substations, and bunker facilities
All extraction and blending conveyor belt are maintained effectively to give optimal availabilities
Comply to ISO standards by regular audits
GENERAL
Ensure maximum availability and reliability of equipment
Provide specific expertise and in-section coaching and training on maintenance processes
Evaluate personnel training needs, schedule for training and coach sub-ordinates towards
requirements for next higher level
Sound safety performance
Comply to legal requirements by adhering to inspection regulations
Allocating resources (people, materials) between jobs
Organising resources to meet objectives
Allocating duties to others
Giving verbal instructions to colleagues
Directly supervising people at work
Supervising to ensure compliance with laws/regulations
Maintaining a physical presence to monitor work outcomes
Issuing directions in an emergency or unexpected situation
Giving verbal instructions to non-supervisory staff
Managing breakdowns and overtime
Managing and controlling of service providers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM”s) of equipment and machinery in your section

JOB SPECIFICATION
-In depth knowledge and experience of SCS Plant (advantage)
-Organisation of activities at SCS Plant
-Experience on Coal Handling equipment e.g. Conveyors, Tripper cars, Chutes, Bunkers, Screens, Ringbreakers, SATLABS, etc.
-(JSA) and SLAM, Risk Assessments, COP’s and SOP's
-Time and attendance control of subordinates
-SAP knowledge
-Contractor management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
-N3 with Business English /Grade 12 with English Maths and Science
-Valid red ticket
-Valid first aid certificate
-Electro Mechanic (Must)
-5 years' experience
