Job Description

The HR Officer will be required to display a wide range of knowledge, skill and expertise within the area of HR . The HR Officer will be expected to assist the business within the Limpopo and surrounding regions with any HR related queries.. The role plays a pivotal part in fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Communicating and assisting stores with HR related matters and queries
  2. Assist to implement and improve systems and procedures related to the HR department
  3. Ensure the updating interpretation and implementation of Organization Policies, Procedures and Agreements
  4. Prepare and present best practice solutions to the business to minimize risks, including management reporting and benchmarking statistics
  5. Assist in training and development at store level
  6. Executing of IPM
  7. Maintain current knowledge of tools and best practices within Employee Relations
  8. Day to day HR/ IR advice to Managers/ Directors/ Employees
  9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity even when dealing with controversial issues
  10. Chairing Disciplinary hearings
  11. Appearances at the CCMA for inter alia: Con / Arb processes, Conciliation, Recession Hearings
  12. Dealing with internal greivances (Group and individual)
  13. Counseling, Evaluation and Training of staff
  14. Incapacity Investigations (Poor Work Performance and Ill Health
  15. Facilitating Retrenchment procedures
  16. Drafting / or perusing of Recognitions agreements/ wage and or any other agreements pertaining to Employee/ Union related matters
  17. Strike attendances and settlements

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Qualification in Human Resource Management
  2. Knowledge of LRA; BCEA; SDLA; OHSA; COIDA; UIA; UI Contribution Act; SDA and EEA
  3. Be a good negotiator and conflict handler
  4. Ability to multitask Reliability, dependable and responsible Accuracy and efficiency
  5. MS Office Suite experience
  6. 3 - 5 Years’ experience in HR/IR Generalist
  7. Valid driver’s licence and travel to sites on occasion
  8. Attention to detail
  9. Excellent communication , management , organisational and problem solving skills
  10. Fluency in Tsonga and Venda (will be advantageous)
